Conwy Medieval Orchard
I don’t know if any of you are familiar with Conwy at all but there is a castle with attached walls which surrounds the town. In that town they have seasonal markets – the most popular being the honey fair but they also have farmers markets ect. These markets date bake to the when the castle was first built in the 13th century.
Just outside the castle walls is the most beautiful overgrown fruit garden. The orchard contains a number of very old looking apple trees, pear trees and a very rare welsh native plum tree.
It was only about a year ago I found out about this local scrumping treasure and ever I have been addicted to keeping an eye on the fruit ready for them to ripen, so I can harvest.
Its Sunday today and its a beautiful day, so we picked up our basket and went in search of fruit to make our seasonal favourites.
